It's been my first visit in...well longer than I can remember. Anyway, I probably won't be back too soon, just letting you guys know I did stop in again. I updated my pics. :-P

Well I haven't been around NG in a while and I was probably assumed as dead. But in lighter news the tire exploded on my Mercedes while I was in the center lane of the interstate. The car has a security feature that seems flawed in logic. When the car senses something such as a blown tire it automatically applies brakes and locks the wheel straight. Well sure, this makes sense if you're so scared you're kicking the brake pedal and twisting your arms trying to yank the wheel rapidly while driving on a perfectly straight road.

So that's the situation that it works in. Here are the ones which it fails miserably at:
- Trying to consciously slow the car down faster than your normal braking pattern
- Trying to pull over on the side of the road (God forbid you're on the interstate)
- Trying to do all of the above and in a timely fashion to avoid grinding your wheels

Wait though, it gets better. All of the sudden, the car becomes responsive again and compensates for the past 10 seconds of my attempt to slop the car all at once. The car halted after grinding on the front right wheel in 4 different locations. There are now flat spots on the wheel's rim that are 5-6 inches in length.

But I did throw a party this past Saturday which was amazing. I'd comfortably say it was more than a 100 person turn out. Okay I'm stoned I don't want to type anymore.

Why hasn't NG implemented a buddies (friends) system? I know it resembles Myspace and Facebook too much to be ballsy, but still. I would really link to have an easily manageable list of all my good friends on NG.

I know we have a contact list in the PM system, but it isn't exactly the same. I'm not asking for 20 people's pictures on my user page, just a list for me with photos in my user panel.

Somehow, in a land far far away, my girlfriend actually showed some excitement for a complete recoding of NG and the new design. I showed her my personal page, subdomain, blog, and all that jibber-jabber.

Having a girlfriend who supports geekiness is pretty awesome. You can go envy me now.

So this is the new NG and everyone is stoked (because it takes 100 years to load a page with all the server load). Well, the code looks much better and the site behaves better. I'm glad to see that NG is updating with the new standards of interactive websites, but there are some shortcomings in my opinion as well.

I was really hoping for a new layout. I see some notable changes in the current layout and the actual page content has gotten a nice make over, but maybe it's just me who didn't like the header of the old layout in the first place.

Comments? I'd like to see where everyone else stands on this as well.
